These two embroidery drawings: Rustbelt House and Backyard Lawn will become animation backgrounds in my upcoming film, Being Pushed Down by Shadow (2022). The film follows a college-age daughter and her mom throughout the summer of 1970. They do not see eye to eye on much, but eventually grow closer after they realize they are both being haunted by the same ghoulish presence in their home. This home is depicted in both of the embroideries along with their rust-belt town's source of income: the looming steel mill.
I am an independent animator and game designer. My previous film, the Spirit Seam (2019) was created using a mixture of 3D animated characters, 2D animated, effects, and physically created backgrounds using a variety of materials and techniques.
