This piece portrays a future where technology is engrained in every fabric of our society. My intention was to paint a city that is infinitely disassembling and reassembling itself. It is reflective of the optimism I hold for our ever-changing world despite the neverending corruption, surveillance, and control of information. The beacon of light in the center symbolizes the constant evolution of the self since the individual’s growth is vital to raising the consciousness of the collective. I chose to paint this with the form of a toroidal/torus field because the Earth has a magnetic field that is toroidal. The Earth's atmospheric and oceanic systems are influenced by this magnetic field, which then causes the ecosystems, plants, animals, etc. to all exhibit the same torus flow dynamics. It all goes back to that ancient Egyptian proverb, “As above so below." My influences include Umberto Boccioni and the movements of Futurism and Cubism.
